About Us
Our Story
The SAFE Project was founded by four college friends whose lives were shaped by sports.
Growing up, some of our most meaningful memories were made in stadiums, arenas, and ballparks. Whether it was attending games with family, cheering alongside thousands of fans, or watching our heroes compete on the biggest stages, sports gave us much more than entertainment. They taught us perseverance, teamwork, passion, and the importance of dreaming big.
The athletes we admired became role models. The teams we supported gave us a sense of community. The experiences we had at games inspired us to work hard, set goals, and believe that anything was possible.
As we got older, we began to realize that many children never have the chance to create those same memories. The rising cost of tickets, transportation, food, and other expenses has made attending live sporting events increasingly inaccessible for many families.
We couldn't help but ask a simple question:
What if every child had the opportunity to experience the magic of a live game?
That question became The SAFE Project.
Why Sports Matter
Sports are about much more than what happens on the field.
For a child, attending a game can be the beginning of a lifelong passion. It can be the first time seeing a role model in person, the moment they discover a new dream, or an experience that shows them opportunities they never knew existed.
Sports have a unique ability to inspire, unite, and teach lessons that extend far beyond the final score. They bring together people from all backgrounds and create moments that stay with us for a lifetime.
We believe those experiences should be available to every child—not just those who can afford them.
Who We Are Today
The SAFE Project is a student-founded nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to live sporting events for underprivileged children. Through the generosity of donors, community partners, teams, and volunteers, we work to create memorable experiences that inspire, uplift, and leave a lasting impact. Our organization was established to provide underprivileged children opportunities to attend athletic events and related experiences through coordinated support and community engagement.
What began as a conversation among four friends has grown into a commitment to ensuring that more children have the opportunity to experience the excitement, inspiration, and sense of belonging that sports can provide.
A future where no child misses out.
Our vision is simple: a future where no child is prevented from experiencing the joy of live sports because of financial barriers. Every child deserves the chance to hear the roar of a crowd, watch their heroes compete, and create memories that will stay with them forever.
